The building, originally composed of a ground floor and two upper floors, is located within an area classified as a “Historic Residential Area” and falls under the intervention zone of the Historic Core of Bairro Alto and Bica.
It is a palatial construction dating from the second half of the 19th century, featuring morphological characteristics typical of this type of building and period. For this reason, it was imperative that certain architectural elements were preserved in the rehabilitation project, namely the arch in the entrance hall, the staircase with traditional tile panels, and the balustrade.
An additional floor was created, comprising two new apartments with superb views over the rooftops of the Santa Catarina neighborhood.
